We are looking for a meticulous Purchasing and Logistics Specialist who will be responsible for managing the procurement and logistics.
The role involves selecting suppliers, managing supply chains, coordinating logistics, and ensuring efficient inventory management to support the company s sales and distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:

Source and procure a variety of industrial products

Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, product quality, industry reputation, and delivery capability.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with vendors and distributors
-
Issue purchase orders and track supplier performance to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.

Stay updated on market trends in the industry to make informed purchasing decisions.

Collaborate with the sales and technical teams to forecast demand for specific products based on customer needs and market dynamics.

Manage relationships with key vendors such as manufacturers and suppliers,
Logistics:
-
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for the movement of products between suppliers, warehouses, and customers.

Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards when shipping hazardous materials like gases.

Monitor the transportation of large or sensitive items such as industrial machines to avoid damage and ensure timely deliveries.

Work with freight forwarders and transport companies to optimise logistics routes, minimise delays, and reduce costs.

Manage import/export documentation and customs clearance for international purchases of products.

Resolve logistics issues such as shipment delays, damage, or discrepancies, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Inventory Management:

Monitor inventory levels of consumables to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid overstocking or stockouts.

Ensure products are stored safely and in compliance with handling regulations, particularly hazardous or sensitive items
Cost Control & Efficiency:

Analyse procurement and logistics costs specific to and propose cost-saving strategies.

Negotiate favourable terms with suppliers and logistics providers to improve profitability while maintaining product quality.

Implement measures to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce the risk of stock shortages or delivery delays.
Compliance:

Ensure that purchasing and logistics operations comply with local and international safety, environmental, and import/export regulations specific to the industry (e.g., hazardous materials handling, customs clearance, etc.).

Maintain records for audits and regulatory compliance, particularly for hazardous items
What we re looking for:

Experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain roles
-
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and inventory management software.

Strong vendor negotiation and contract management skills, ideally within the industrial sector - not essential
