Five candidates have been put forward to become Letchworth's new Member of Parliament.

The town will definitely have a new MP has Sir Oliver Heald is not standing for election in the North East Hertfordshire constituency.

Locals will head to the polls on Thursday 4 July.

The candidates in Hitchin are:

• Ruth Brown - Liberal Democrats
• Vicky Burt - Green Party
• Nikki Da Costa - Conservative Party
• Chris Hinchliff - Labour
