A secondary school in Letchworth has become an academy.

From New Year's Day this year, The Highfield School in Highfield, Letchworth, became the ninth school to join the Scholars' Education Trust.

The multi-academy trust was founded in 2012 and provides education for more than 8,000 children between the ages of three and 18.

Headteacher Lucy Miles said: "This is, we believe, a really exciting and important opportunity for the school."

The school previously received a rating of 'good' after their last Ofsted inspection back in May 2023.
