Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a road traffic collision on the A1M today (Monday 16 September).

At just before 7am, a white Isuzu truck and a white DAF lorry were in collision southbound between junctions 7 and 8 near Stevenage.

Emergency services attended and the A1M was closed in both directions to allow the air ambulance to land.

One man was taken to hospital by the air ambulance in a serious condition.

The southbound carriageway remains closed this morning to allow for investigative work to be conducted.

Sergeant Tim Davies, of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: "I'm appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision, or has dash cam footage of it, to make contact as we investigate the circumstances of the incident.

"I can be contacted directly by email via [email protected].

"You can also report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 80 of 16 September.

"Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.

"If you have dash cam footage in relation to the collision, please upload this at: https://upload.5fdams.aetopia.net?ref=76G8M3."
