Appeal for witnesses following serious collision in Baldock   

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision on Clothall Road (A507) in Baldock.   

At around 3pm on Tuesday (26 September) a red Audi A4 and an electric bicycle were in collision. 

Officers attended, alongside paramedics from the ambulance and air ambulance.  

A 76-year-old man from Enfield was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.  

A 32-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury without due care.   

Road closures were put in place on the A507 while emergency services attended the scene and the vehicles were recovered.  

Police Sergeant Mark Casey from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: "I am appealing to anyone who has witnessed this collision to come forward with information. 

"Additionally, if you were driving in the area at the time and have dashcam footage that may support our investigation please contact me."
