Hello from David's!

As we leave January behind (where did it go?) and look to the

year ahead, there are lots of reasons to be cheerful. This week we have a really strong line-up of new releases. One of our favourites comes from Black Country New Road. Their

second album 'Ants From Up There', while it's a bit of a

departure from their Mercury Prize shortlisted debut, it retains

the core of what we enjoyed so much the first time, while

pushing forward and evolving. Moving towards a more traditional song-structure on many of the tracks, they manage to avoid sacrificing any of the musical wizardry they're becoming known for. Another release taking up a lot of stereo time this week comes

from London based Los Bitchos, who's debut 'Let The Festivities

Begin' is an absolute joy! A mixing pot of retro-futuristic Peruvian chicha, Turkish psych & surf guitars. Truly a sonic cocktail for the sunnier days we're looking forward to. There have been some exciting announcements this week

about forthcoming albums to get hyped for, including

heavyweights: Red Hot Chili Peppers, George Ezra &

Blossoms.

Plus some indie champions with new music on the

horizon; Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever & Warpaint. Don't forget to check out our socials channels and hit up our website for all the latest info. PREVIOUS COLUMNS: Hello from David's
