It's the Great Big Walk for Herts this weekend

Put on your walking boots and be part of a county-wide fundraising challenge to walk the whole of the 'Hertfordshire Way' in one day!

Date: Saturday, September 24, 10am start

Join Helping Herts, the official charity of the Stort Valley Rotary Club and 12 charities in Hertfordshire for an unforgettable sponsored walk in the Hertfordshire countryside to raise vital funds for children's charities in Hertfordshire. All the funds raised will go directly to the charities involved.

Each charity will be walking a leg of the Hertfordshire Way. You can choose to sign up to one of 14 routes depending on where you'd like to explore or if there is a particular charity you would like to walk with. Each section of the walk is between 9 – 14 miles long.

Gordon Morrison, Co-Founder of Helping Herts, said: "It's going to be a great day out with all the charities out walking different sections of the Hertfordshire Way in one day Money raised from the event will help many children and their families throughout Hertfordshire.

"Please join them on their walk or donate if you can and help the charities with their fundraising efforts."

The twelve charities involved are:

- Coram Life Education

- Carers in Herts

- Herts Young Homeless

- For Baby's Sake

- Herts Mind Network

- Grove Cottage

- RDA

- Home Start Herts

- The Phoenix Group for Deaf Children and Adults

- PlaySkill

- The Ollie Foundation
