Here's the reason a Police helicopter flew over Letchworth and surrounding areas for hours on Thursday evening

If you were in Letchworth or nearby on Thursday afternoon and evening you would have heard the incessant buzz of a helicopter (see main picture).

Hitchin Nub News contacted the police who told us: "The aircraft was working with Bedfordshire officers executing a warrant to arrest a suspect involved with a firearms incident on Tuesday (9 April)."

The police action is in relation to a story Nub News covered earlier this week, on Tuesday, after an Arlesey shooting at Woodview Lodge left two men hospitalised.

On Tuesday (April 9) at Woodview Lodge, Hitchin Road, Arlesey between 940pm and 10pm police were called to reports of a firearm discharge.

One man in his 20s and the other in his 30s, are currently being treated in hospital, their injuries are not believed to be life-threating.
