Hertfordshire's three remaining Body Shop stores avoid axe as 75 sites close across the county
Hertfordshire's three Body Shop stores are to remain open after avoiding the axe.
The trio of shops in our county were not named among the 75 sites set to close across the country.
Tony Wright, Joint Administrator, said: "In taking swift action to right-size The Body Shop UK store portfolio, we have stabilised the business and are providing the best opportunity for this iconic brand to have a long-term, sustainable future.
"The UK business continues to trade in administration, and we remain fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward."
As a result of the store closures, 489 staff will be made redundant over the next four to six weeks as individual stores are closed.
The Body Shop will keep 116 UK stores open, with Herts stores in St Albans, atria Watford, and an outlet store at The Galleria in Hatfield among them.
