Labour's Chris Hinchcliff wins in North East Hertfordshire as Tories voted out

Labour's Chris Hinchliff has been elected the new MP for North East Hertfordshire, taking the seat from the Conservatives.

Mr Hinchliff won 18,358, taking a narrow victory over Nikki da Costa (16,435).

The Tories took just over half as many votes as in 2019.

Meanwhile Steve Adelantado came third for Reform with 8,462.

North Hertfordshire results in full:

  • Chris Hinchliff (Labour) - 18,358
  • Nikki da Costa (Conservative) - 16,435
  • Steve Adelantado (Reform UK) - 8,462
  • Ruth Brown (Liberal Democrat) - 5,463
  • Vicky Burt (Green) - 3,802
