A crash involving a number of vehicles has caused severe delays on the A1(M) this morning (Thursday, January 13).

The collision took place on the southbound section near J7 for the A602 Broadhall Way in Stevenage South.

The incident has seen long queues form with heavy traffic all the way back to J8 for Stevenage and Hitchin.

Traffic congestion has also built up on the other side of the carriageway due to people slowing to view the incident.

A lane was shut meaning delays of more than half and hour for motorists during the morning rush hour.

Nub News has contacted Herts police for an update.
