Garden House Hospice Care is saddened to announce the upcoming closure of its charity shop in Queensway, Stevenage. 

The shop opened in 2019 and has proved a good source of donations from the local community.

However, despite the efforts of its dedicated staff and volunteers, it has struggled to match the success of the other Hospice shops across Stevenage, North Hertfordshire and beyond with a decision made to close its doors after its final day of sales on November 1. 

The four staff members affected by this closure have all been offered alternative positions within Garden House Hospice Care.  

Carla Pilsworth is Director of Income Generation at Garden House Hospice Care: "This announcement comes with a heavy heart, as we bid farewell to the Queensway Shop just four years after its opening. Our sincerest thanks go out to our dedicated staff and volunteers for their unwavering commitment. Our commitment to the town of Stevenage remains unchanged, as we continue to operate three other stores in the area. 

"Our dedication to the growth and improvement of Garden House Hospice Care's trading operations remains unchanged. We are resolute in ensuring that our outlets not only remain profitable but also continue to be a crucial source of support for those in the communities we serve.  

"We extend our gratitude to all who have generously donated or purchased items in our shop. Your ongoing support is indispensable to us, and we eagerly anticipate your visits to one of our alternative shops in the very near future." 

The Queensway shop's final day of trading will be Wednesday, November 1.
