Letchworth BID is up for reballot - and all town centre businesses must vote before Wednesday's deadline.

The BID is such an integral part of the town - so, if you are a Letchworth business why not make sure you vote for such an integral part of our community.

The BID Company acts as a voice for local businesses to tackle issues related to both footfall and offer.

Letchworth BID say: "Our mission is to restore the world's first Garden City to its place as a unique and inspirational destination for all to enjoy; attractive, social, innovative, creative, convenient and most of all thriving."

A Business Improvement District or BID is a formal partnership between local authorities and local businesses, who come together to make and deliver plans to improve trade and footfall within their town centre.

BIDs have developed nationally over the last 12 years and must be agreed by ballot; they are funded in whole, or in part, by a levy additional to the non-domestic rates.

Richard Harbon, Letchworth Bid boss (above) said at the time of his appointment: "I'm excited to have been appointed as manager of Love Letchworth," .

"I've been involved in the local community for a long time, and want to celebrate the many things that Letchworth has to offer.

"The Love Letchworth team and I have lots of enthusiasm, energy and ideas.

"We're looking forward to working with the local traders and the people of Letchworth to deliver a fun-filled year that puts Letchworth on the map."

Letchworth Nub News has approached Richard Harbon for an interview for a future Up Close feature. Watch this space.
