Letchworth: Man arrested after woman assaulted outside Tesco in our town

LETCHWORTH: A man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault after a woman was assaulted outside Tesco Express.

Police were called at around 655pm on Monday [December 13] after it was reported that a man had entered the Tesco Express store in Middlefields, from which he is currently banned and began acting in an aggressive and threatening manner when told to leave.

It was also alleged that he had physically assaulted a woman outside the store.

Officers attended and located the man in Grange Road a short time later.

He was arrested on suspicion of common assault and remains in police custody at this time.
