Letchworth Nub News Job of the Week

Would you like the opportunity to enhance the life of a vulnerable adult?

Do you consider yourself caring, enthusiastic, responsible and understanding?

If so, Herts at Home would love to hear from you.

We're seeking caring, responsible, empathetic, understanding and proactive individuals with a great sense of humour to deliver high quality care to vulnerable adults with a variety of needs.

In return you'll receive flexible shift patterns, a competitive rate of pay and a higher than average mileage allowance.

Ideally, all applicants should be able to work at least two evenings per week and 2 weekends per month – but we are happy to discuss your availability informally or at interview.

Delivering domiciliary care in the North Herts area, including Royston, Letchworth, Baldock, Hitchin and surrounding areas, you will be enabling the people we support to remain independent in their own homes.

Herts at Home are a care provider working with Hertfordshire County Council and we provide care for people living in their own homes in the community. Rated as Good by the CQC, we are striving to achieve Outstanding and you can help us reach that goal!

Here's why you should work with us:

We pay you £12.43 per hour – FTE £25,900 per annum (£13.43 for Bank Holidays).

We pay for your DBS check.

We are committed to provide our staff with comprehensive paid training, regular ongoing support throughout your career, and promote professional career development.

We are part of the Herts Rewards programme, offering you great shopping discounts and local offers (e.g. Asda, Sainsburys, New Look, cinema tickets, leisure centres and much more!).

You will work with a friendly, supportive team who share a passion for providing a high standard of person-centred care.

A little about the role and responsibilities:

Providing support to older people as outlined in their care plans to include personal care and adhering to risk assessments.

Carrying out moving and assisting techniques specific to the clients' needs.

Supporting people to express their choices, promoting their individuality and independence about their care decisions.

Providing emotional support.

Medication administration.

About you:

Caring, responsible, empathetic, understanding and proactive, with a great sense of humour.

A passion for delivering high quality care to vulnerable adults with a variety of needs.

Able to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team to meet the needs of the people we support.

Comfortable in assisting individuals with their personal care where this is required.

You must be a driver and have access to a vehicle for the duration of your shift.

Experience as a care worker would be an advantage but is not essential as full training is provided. Therefore, we actively encourage applications from candidates with no previous experience.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check before commencement of employment.

Currently we have vacancies in Royston, Letchworth, Hitchin, Baldock, Knebworth and all the surrounding villages.

If you are not quite ready to apply, but you'd like to know more, please call us on 01438 845 220 for an informal chat.

Full and part-time available - 0-40 hours.

Part-time hours: 0-40 per week
