LETCHWORTH: As the leaves on the trees in the routes into our town including Broadway display glorious autumnal yellows and browns, thoughts invariably turn to questions over when the clocks change.

While the old adage, 'spring forward, fall back' is a helpful phrase, we are still left without specifics.

Letchworth Nub News is here to help.

When do the clocks change?

In the UK the clocks go forward one hour at 1am on the last Sunday in March, and back one hour at 2am on the last Sunday in October.

The period when the clocks are one hour ahead is called British Summer Time (BST).

This means there is more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings (sometimes called Daylight Saving Time).

When the clocks go back, the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

This year, our clocks go back on Sunday, October 31

But before then, here's to more glorious sunshine and late autumnal colours.
