Stevenage FC to dedicate upcoming match to charity partner Garden House Hospice Care

Stevenage's match this weekend is set to be dedicated to raising funds for its 2023-24 official charity partner.

Local charity Garden House Hospice Care will 'takeover' the fixture against Burton Albion this Saturday (April 13) at the Lamex when Stevenage players will play the match in their third kit which has the Hospice's logo on proud display.

There will be opportunities for fans to support the Hospice throughout the day in the form of raffles, text donations and bucket collections.

There will even be a fun halftime competition between the Hospice's 'Harry the Bear' and Stevenage FC's 'Borough Bear' mascots.

"They do fantastic work. To see the level of care people receive is very humbling." said team captain Carl Piergianni.

Defender Dan Butler added: "I didn't realise just how much work the staff do. It shocked me. The funding is so important, people need the Hospice."

Last year, Garden House Hospice Care supported more than 300 families living in Stevenage alone.

They need to raise £15,300 every day - up from £9,700 last year to continue providing their services in Stevenage and across the rest of North Hertfordshire and surrounding villages and towns.

Charlotte is the daughter of a former patient, Christopher, who used the Hospice at Home service when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

"Without the Hospice at Home team, dad wouldn't have been home for Christmas. We wouldn't have been able to do it without their help," says Charlotte (pictured in main shot).

So, if you're looking for something fun to do with family and friends, and you'd like to show some support for both Stevenage F.C. and the Hospice, why not head over down to Lamex Stadium in Stevenage this Saturday April 13 (kick-off is at 3pm).
