Speeding and anti-social behaviour are the key issues that the Letchworth and Baldock Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) will be focusing on over the coming months, following feedback from the local communities.

For the first time in two years, a public meeting was held to enable local residents to air their views and discuss issues in person with local officers. Feedback was also submitted via OWL and echo and this has also all been analysed.

The SNT are tasked with fixing short and long-term neighbourhood issues, which include issues such as anti-social behaviour. They work closely with local partners including the council and schools to achieve this. The local priorities are reviewed every six months, with local residents once again being consulted.

The new priorities are:

Speeding – in particular Norton Way North and Norton Road in Letchworth and Clothall Road in Baldock.

Anti-social behaviour – Young people causing ASB in Letchworth Town Centre, particularly Garden Square Shopping Centre, Leys Avenue and the surrounding streets.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Lisa Perks said: "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to attend the meeting or submit their views online. My teams will now be working hard to tackle these issues and I hope that you will soon see a difference.

"Please do continue to use echo to let us know your views. It's vital that you tell us your concerns so that we know where to target our resources where they are needed most."
