A man has been airlifted to hospital with 'serious injuries' after a second collision into two days on the busy A505 in North Herts.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a two-vehicle road traffic collision near Hitchin on Saturday (April 30) afternoon.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at 218pm to reports of a collision involving a car and a motorbike on the A505 carriageway at the junction of Carters Lane - formerly known as Wibbly Wobbly Lane - heading from Hitchin to Luton.

Herts Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision to contact us."

Call non-emergency number 101 quoting ISR 402 of 30 April.

Saturday's episode is the second serious collision on the A505 near Hitchin in 48 hours, after officers launched a witness appeal following the death of 17-year-old in a fatal road incident on Thursday.
