A pair of consultation events are to be held regarding plans to build up to 900 homes at Letchworth.

Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation would like to develop a former Green Belt site near The Grange to the north of the town, named LG1 in the Local Plan.

Three masterplan options have been put forward, each including a new primary school and a neighbourhood centre although no secondary schools or GP surgeries are planned. Forty per cent of the homes will be affordable.

Comments can be submitted up until November 17.

One of the options will then be chosen before submission of a planning application to North Herts Council by the spring of 2024 with a decision set to be taken next summer.

Public exhibitions of the plans will be held on:

Saturday, November 4, 10am-2pm – The Stables, Three Horseshoes, Norton Road, SG6 1AG

Wednesday, November 15, 5pm-9pm – Grange Academy, SG6 4PY
