Vehicle seized after Herts police chase in Letchworth

A vehicle has been seized after police embarked on a chase through Letchworth.

Officers from the Letchworth Safer Neighbourhood Team at Hertfordshire Constabulary were on routine patrol when they spotted a driver behaving erratically.

They asked the driver to stop - it is against the law to fail to stop when requested to do so by a police officer - but the driver failed to do so.

According to a statement posted on social media by North Herts Police, a 'pursuit' occurred, after which the vehicle was caught and impounded. .

Police confirmed: "Enquiries are now in hand and prosecutions will be sought where appropriate."
