A local wedding company is set to reveal a fleet of new vehicles as it gears up for another summer of events.

Lucky Penny Weddings has added four new classic cars to its roster, offering happy couples a choice of vintage motors to include in their big day.

The company was launched in 2021 by entrepreneur Kate Peto who swapped her pre-pandemic job at a local care home to start her own business.

Lucky Penny Weddings was started with vintage 1966 split-screen, cream coloured VW Microbus 'Penny'.

And now Penny has been joined by a near 60-year-old Jaguar MK2, courtesy of new business partner Matthew Finch.

First registered in February 1968, the classic motor had been Matthew's father's pride of joy, and holds great sentimental value as he is sadly no longer with us.

The Jag was renovated in 2018

"Since being driven out of the showroom it has remained in the same family ever since," Matt said.

"In 2018 the extensive restoration was complete.

"The original Old English White colour was maintained but the interior was upgraded to a sumptuous red leather, complimenting the walnut dash.

"Since being back on the road, the car has featured on the front cover of Classic Jaguar magazine and in the TV show Classic Car Garage.

"Having been my father's car, the history of this Jag is unique and the perfect car to start your lifelong journey in together."

Over the coming week's Kate will be showcasing the other three new sets of wheels, and is encouraging couples to consider adding a touch of style to their wedding.

The car was first registered in February 1968

"I think Penny and the Jaguar make a winning team," says Kate.

"We are really excited to be adding more vehicles to our business, and Matt's Jaguar is a fantastic edition.

"It has such a special history, it means so much.

"We hope it will help provide lots of couples a stylist start to their new lives together."
