A national courier service based in North Herts has been thanked for a generous donation to Letchworth's much-loved Garden House Hospice.

National courier Speedy Freight handed over a cheque for £500 to the Hospice in our town.

The Hospice costs £5.4million a year to run, and they need to raise £9,500 every day to fund the services - with the kind donation happily accepted by the Hospice.

Erman Housein, Head of Business Development at the Hospice, said, "We'd like to thank branch manager Natalie O'Toole and the team at Speedy Freight in Stevenage for their kind donation.

"As a hospice we sit at the heart of our local community and rely on the support and generosity of individuals and local businesses, such as Speedy Freight, to help fund the specialist palliative care we provide for patients, families and carers across Stevenage, North Hertfordshire and beyond."

"There is a wide range of opportunities and benefits for organisations of all sizes to partner up with Garden House Hospice Care and support a local charitable cause.

"I'd encourage interested parties to get in touch with our team to discover more about our mutually beneficial, sustainable partnerships."

In addition, Speedy Freight will be supporting the Hospices' Christmas Treecycling service, by helping to collect trees in January from the local community.

To coincide with the branch relaunch, the Stevenage team have chosen to donate to Garden House Hospice, to help fund care and support for patients with life-limiting conditions, as well as counselling for families.

The same day courier service, which has over 60 local branches nationwide, is aiming to recruit around 50 drivers to their partner network to support the re-launched site.

Located in North Herts, the Stevenage branch will service a range of industries – including road transport companies, retail, construction, and manufacturing throughout the area.

The site will be open 24-hours-a-day, meaning dedicated Stevenage couriers can be deployed at any time for same day, or next day, delivery.

Branch Manager Natalie O'Toole will oversee operations, aided by Customer Service Advisor Oliver Saunders, and Business Development Manager Vanita Hans.

Natalie, who comes from a sales and management background, brings a wealth of experience to the role, and is also in charge of operations at Speedy Freight's Cambridge office.

Natalie said: "As the new branch manager for Stevenage and Cambridge I pride myself on bringing the best service every time for our customers.

"This branch has so much potential, and we're so excited to expand our team and help the business thrive in the area."
