Stuck for ways to recycle your Christmas tree in Letchworth: Why not Treecycle - find out more

Stuck with what to do with your Christmas tree once the holiday season is over?

North Herts Council has issued information on this year's Christmas tree collections for people in Letchworth and surrounding areas.

As long as they are real trees the council will collect them for you in January.

Put your real tree out on a brown bin collection day - see details here - either cut up inside the bin or beside it ready for collection.

Don't forget to take off any decorations and remove the base of the tree or your tree may not be collected.

Why not Treecycle

A way to dispose of your tree while helping a good cause is through a team of volunteers that will travel across Letchworth collecting real Christmas trees to recycle in exchange for a donation to our town's Garden House Hospice.

The hospice asks for a small donation to help support its end of life care.

All trees will be collected between Thursday, January 6 and Monday, January 10. However, because of the league numbers of collections, collectors can't confirm specific times.

Visit www.ghhospicecare.org or call 01462 679540.
