Tributes have been flooding in for murdered teenager Kajetan Migdal, who was killed after his prom.

The tragic 18-year-old was murdered after his school prom on Friday evening.

Police were called at around 1120pm on Friday (May 27), following an incident in Cutty's Lane, during which Mr Migdal sustained life threatening injuries. Despite best efforts to save him, he sadly passed away in the Lister Hospital during the early hours of Saturday (May 28).

Fellow pupils at his school, Saint John Henry Newman Catholic School on Hitchin Road in Stevenage, gathered on Sunday to lay flowers and collages of photographs, in honour of the popular teenager.

A large number of people posted their condolences on the school's official Facebook page.

Kate Kakande wrote: "The strength of community at JHN has always been [its] greatest asset. I pray that Kajetan's family, friends, teachers and the wider school feel upheld by the depth of love that exists there."

While Lyndsey French added: "Absolutely heartbreaking, there are just no words. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."

If you would like to donate to pay for Mr Migdal's funeral costs, his aunt, Corrie Everett, has set up a GoFundMe page online for funeral costs, which has already raised more than £15,000.

The family wrote:: "Kajetan was a loving, joy-filled young man with a bright future."

An 18-year-old has been charged with Mr Migdal's murder.

Patrick Sharp, was charged with murder on Sunday (May 29), as well as possession of an offensive weapon and possession of Class A drugs.

Sharp has been remanded into custody to appear before St Albans Magistrates' Court today, Monday (May 30).

Anyone who believes they witnessed the incident, or believes they may have captured any dashcam or CCTV footage of note, is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number, 101 quoting ISR 948 of 27 May.
