Willow's 10K event returns to Hatfield House on Sunday 9 October with a great new look

In addition to the traditional 10k and 5K, this year the beloved local running event also features a Family Fun Run, making it a great event for beginners and experienced runners or walkers.

The Willow 10k raises funds for Hertfordshire-based charity, Willow – the only UK charity helping seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 create unforgettable memories with their loved ones. Since 2009 the Willow 10K has been a hit with people of all ages, raising more than £425,000 to support seriously ill 16-40 year olds across the UK.

Runners, joggers and walkers can sign up today for as little as £7.50 at willowfoundation.org.uk/willow10k

All 10k and 5k entrants will be timed and receive a very special Willow medal and finishers t-shirt. Prizes will be given for the best fancy dress in the Family Fun Run and all entrants will receive a medal at the finish before receiving a sweet treat heading into the Runners Village.

About the Willow 10k

The Willow 10k is a fun family event with an energetic event specific warm-up, entertainment along the course, food and games stalls in our runners village, and sports massage on hand to ease any aches and pains before or after you make your way round the stunning grounds of Hatfield House.

Open to seasoned runners, gentle joggers, beginners or walkers, there's something for everyone on the rural race route which starts and finishes in full view of the iconic Hatfield House. The Willow 10K provides an exclusive opportunity to see hidden parts of the picturesque estate not normally open to the public.

Whether you walk, jog or run, the event is open to all. Those who have never taken on this kind of challenge before are encouraged to get involved and take it at their own pace. The feeling of accomplishment when people face their fears and complete the race will result in a Special Day of their own.

The Runners Village this year will include children's activities, food and drink, face painting and more entertainment for spectators who are supporting friends and family. Hatfield House Stable Yard is also on hand with its wonderful cafe and shops, ensuring there is plenty to make this a fun filled family day out.

Willow Life Presidents Bob and Megs Wilson said "We look forward to the Willow 10K every year. It's been an honour over the years to meet the inspirational participants, particularly those that have overcome serious illness or have lost a loved one, who take part to help support Willow. Every penny raised in sponsorship will help Willow to continue working with seriously ill young adults.  Whichever route you sign up for, you'll be supporting Willow and with every step you'll be putting smiles on the faces of those who need them most."

Willow is incredibly grateful to its sponsors, Simmons Bakers and Wrights, for once again supporting the Willow 10k and making it such a fantastic event

Whether you want to run, jog or walk this is the event for you!
