Letchworth Garden City Eagles pre-season fixtures
The Ashes may not have started yet, but football clubs in our area, including Letchworth Garden City Eagles are gearing up for the new campaign, with a series of pre-season friendlies.
The club was established in 1978-9 when it was known as Westbury United. The name was subsequently changed to Letchworth Garden City Eagles and by 2010 the club has expanded to more than 450 registered players between the ages of 6 and 18, boys and girls.
So, why not save the date and mark the club's summer fixtures (below) in your diary.
The club also has a thriving youth section and in 2008-9 two adult teams were formed to provide an exit route for youth players. They compete in the Herts Senior County League. The boys' teams play mini soccer up to under 11, and full size from u11 to u18. They compete in the Royston Crow Youth Football League. Girls teams play in the Herts Girls league and the Chiltern League.
