A Baldock restaurant will be allowed to serve alcohol and food in a new garden area, despite neighbours claiming it could keep them up at night.

Chez Burton, in High Street, has been granted a premises licence after reassuring councillors it would not function as a beer garden and provide a fine dining experience.

Letchworth: Police hunt Sainsbury's petrol station racist

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as part of their ongoing enquiries into an incident in Letchworth Garden City.

It was reported that the drivers of two vehicles were involved in a verbal altercation on the petrol station forecourt at Sainsbury's in Third Avenue, during which racially offensive language was reportedly used.
