Stotfold saw in the New Year with an emphatic win over Bedfordshire rivals Biggleswade FC at New Roker Park.

Brett Donnelly's side could have gone a goal up inside the first minute when James Peters fired over from a corner.

Peters made no mistake three minutes later when he dispatched the ball past Tyler Josephs to give Stotfold the lead.

Henry Snee had netted a hat-trick against Biggleswade Town in Stotfold's previous outing, and found the bottom corner to make it 2-0 after five minutes.

Young left-back Callum Kane then finished off a following team move in the ninth minute, before Matt Ball's free-kick was curled past the Biggleswade wall and into the corner of the net.

Stotfold had netted four times in the opening 13 minutes in a dream start to the game.

Manager Donnelly had no intentions for his side to take their foot off the gas, and after 33 minutes Robbie Buchanan added a fifth goal with another composed strike.

Snee completed his brace seven minutes into the second half, nodding home Ball's corner. Stotfold controlled the game from the first exchanges and never let FC breathe after four early goals.

There would be no change to the scoreline as Stotfold enjoyed a rampant win over last season's Southern League Division One Central runners-up.
