A car care firm has been given the green light for an expansion at its Letchworth base by North Herts Council.
Autoglym has been granted planning permission to build a major extension for its warehouse at Works Road, by demolishing some of the existing buildings on site.
The scheme will also see the car park rearranged and actually provide more spaces.
The application shows the extension will provide an extra 1,140 sqm of floorspace.
"The proposal would benefit the economic development of an established local business in [an] area designated for employment uses," the application explained.
"This carries significant weight in favour of the application and accords with local and national planning policies."
Planning permission was signed off in October.
Approving the designs a council report said: "Considering the economic benefits of this proposed development and whilst accepting the proposal would have a visual impact in the locality, on balance, I consider that proposal is acceptable in terms of design and layout.
"The building would not offend the outlook from within residential properties, it would have an impact within the public realm, but within the context of an industrial area which has a variety of different buildings and certainly no uniform scale and layout of buildings."
