Are you passionate about film or filmmaking? Would you like to learn something new? Come join our unique workshop and learn the art of filmmaking.
The workshop will be led by award-winning director, screenwriter and producer, John Harrigan. John will share the knowledge he has gained over the past 12 years from working independently of studios, focusing on the real-world skills required to make a feature film and will share many helpful tips and tricks.
You will learn how to adapt and survive during the filmmaking process and how to utilize location and landscape to create compelling stories.
This workshop includes screenwriting lessons from an award-winning writer and you will learn how to direct and work with actors and a film crew.
In October 2021, John was awarded Best Director at the New York Festival of Cinema. 'Lightships' his latest feature as writer and director has screened its world premiere at the Broadway Cinema & Theatre. 'Lightships' has won multiple international awards and was released on digital in March 2022.
John lives in Hertfordshire, with his wife, FP producer/performer/dancer Lucy Harrigan and children. He is a reader for the Bafta/Rocliffe New Writing competition and the founder at FoolishPeople.com. He teaches and lectures at the Royal College of Art as well as organisations such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Duration – 10am to 6pm
Age group 16+
Everyone is welcome, no previous experience in filmmaking is necessary
The workshop includes an hour lunch break with sandwich catering, and soft and hot drinks are included during the course of the workshop.
