........ Hello from David's! It's been quite a week from us here in the music shop! Extreme weather aside, we've had our hands full with incoming releases and your requests for Record Store Day 2022! It's going to be a great week for 80's fans, as we've got new albums from both Tears For Fears and Johnny Marr. It's been 18 years since Tears For Fears last released a studio album and almost 40 years since their debut, but 'The Tipping Point' proves that they're still a creative force to be reckoned with. Far from looking backwards, the band counts contemporary artists like Phoebe Bridgers, Bon Iver and Rex Orange County among their influences. The result is a brilliantly clear-eyed record, unafraid to tackle both the personal and the political – critics seem to be loving it as much as we do! Johnny Marr's fourth solo venture is similarly inspired, sixteen tracks' worth of proof that the legendary guitarist is still at the height of his powers – as if there were ever any doubt! 'Fever Dreams Pts 1-4' brims with energy and momentum, with Marr himself noting that the double album format was "a challenge you can't really back out of", spurning him to create songs that were "more expansive, sonically and thematically." Expect it to be on the shop stereo non-stop this week! All of our new releases are listed on our website as well as available instore – take a look online or come by to say hi!
