Life saving equipment stolen from Royston fire station

Vital life saving equipment has been stolen from Royston fire station and detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Thousands of pounds of equipment was taken around 8.30pm on Boxing Day (Sunday, December 26) from one of the fire engines parked at the Baldock Street station.

Detective Sergeant Laura Bassett said: "This was a completely senseless theft affecting colleagues in the emergency services, here to protect the public.

"We are appealing for anyone with any information or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area."

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that they have replaced the missing equipment and the fire engine is now fully operational.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 640 of 26 December 2022.
