David's Music Nub News update 23/04

Hello from David's!

It's Record Store Day today, (Saturday, April 23) – this is like indie Christmas for us, and something we look forward to every year!

We love Record Store Day here at David's Music – for those of you unfamiliar, Record Store Day (or RSD) is a day created 15 years ago with the aim of boosting the profile of independent record shops, just like ours!

It's like a global party one day a year to celebrate the culture of the indie record shop, the customers, the conversations, and not forgetting the releases!

This year our ambassador is the one and only Taylor Swift!

Ms Swift is releasing a very special single to celebrate the day, a 7" of 'The Lakes' – the bonus track from 'Folklore'. If enquiries are anything to go by, that one is going to be a popular release!

But don't worry if that isn't your bag, there's a plethora of releases to be had from reissues from heritage acts (U2, Bowie, Dire Straits etc) to more contemporary acts (Foo Fighters, Childish Gambino, Sam Fender etc). There's everything from jazz to indie, soundtracks to soul and everything in between!

All releases are sold on a first come, first served basis, 1 per customer. If you can't make it in to the shop, you can shop online the following week (Friday 29th April) from 8pm! You can find more about the day and the releases on our website :

While we're talking about Taylor Swift, it seems only right to mention our raffle for Ukraine. We've been selling raffle tickets to win a copy for Folklore on CD *signed by Taylor Swift herself!*, in aid of the British Red Cross appeal.

We'll be drawing a winner on the afternoon of Record Store Day! It seemed only fitting, with TayTay as the global ambassador this year!

Hopefully we'll see you over the weekend, whether it be queueing up for some exclusive releases, or just as you pop in to say hi. Thanks as always for your continuing support!
