Fire service confirm details of Gernon Road fire as police investigate arson incident at North Council Herts council offices

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed the following details to Letchworth Nub News:

"Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 537am this morning [Thursday, March 30] to a report of a small fire outside the North Herts Council offices in Gernon Road, Letchworth.

"One fire engine, from Letchworth & Baldock fire station was sent to the scene, where the crew found a small amount of rubbish on fire outside the building.

"Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

"Nobody was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated."

As Letchworth Nub News reported earlier police are currently investigating a suspected arson outside the council officers in Gernon Road in Letchworth.
