Breaking: Police investigate arson outside North Herts Council offices at Gernon Road Letchworth

Breaking: Police are currently investigating a suspected arson outside the council officers in Gernon Road in Letchworth.

Herts Police have confirmed to Letchworth Nub News that officers were called by the fire service at just after 530am this morning, Thursday (March 30).

A pallet had been placed by the front doors of the council building and a some rubbish set fire to on top of it.

The fire was subsequently extinguished and there was no damage to the building.

Police told Nub News: "The motive for the fire is currently unknown."

Officers are appealing for anyone with any information regarding the fire to contact 101 quoting crime reference number 41/25697/23.
