Bim Afolami MP visits local Job Centre as part of the Way to Work Campaign

Bim Afolami MP, Member of Parliament for Hitchin & Harpenden, recently visited the Job Centre which serves residents in North Hertfordshire to meet the Department for Work and Pensions staff who have been working to support constituents into work.

Their team have been working to support local people through the Government's Way to Work campaign, which is supporting half a million people into work by the end of June - building on the previous work done by the Government's Plan for Jobs and other schemes to boost employment.

Mr Afolami said: "Everyone in our community should be able to achieve their fullest potential.

"I am clear that the best way to do that is with a good, rewarding job and career.

"It was a pleasure to meet the DWP team who have been working to support constituents in Hitchin back to work through the Government's Way to Work campaign and other recent schemes like the Kickstart programme.

"I will continue to work with Ministerial colleagues to ensure that we are giving local people – and the fantastic team at the Job Centre – the resources and programmes that they need to succeed."
