In a game changer for the Letchworth arts scene, the renowned Emil Dale Theatre Academy has relocated from Hitchin to Letchworth.
As Letchworth Nub News reported this week, the acclaimed academy has taken over The Grammar School in Letchworth.
As Letchworth GC Heritage Foundation rightly said earlier this week, the move marks a significant step forward in the cultural development of the town - with more than 600 students working in the heart of Letchworth with hopes hight that they will become a part of the thriving Letchworth Garden City cultural scene.
Graham Fisher, chief executive of Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation said: "We are delighted to welcome Emil Dale Academy, one of the UK's leading musical theatre schools to the old Grammar School in the heart of Letchworth Garden City.
"This is a very exciting development for the town and the opening of the school will see an influx of young people, bringing life and animation to Broadway Gardens and the surrounding area and help to further cement the town's growing creative community and identity."
As well as operating the academy, Emil Dale operate The Factory Playhouse Productions – a thriving production arm which will be working in collaboration with Broadway Theatre to deliver more first class entertainment for Letchworth Garden City.
