LETCHWORTH: High winds forecast for this weekend have blown away plans for our town's eagerly-awaited Christmas Lights Switch-On.

Saturday's big Letchworth Christmas Lights Switch-One has been cancelled due to strong winds predicted around the event.

With safety paramount, organisers have rightly opted to call off the planned activities.

Organsiers said: [I]"We apologise for the late cancellation of our Christmas Lights Switch-On this Saturday, but with the predicted weather forecast, our priority as always is making sure the people of Letchworth are safe.

"We will update you as soon as possible."
