Letchworth icons David's Bookshop hail loyal customers as renowned town centre store marks 60 years

On March 30, 1963 David's Bookshop opened its doors for the very first time at Station Place. Fast forward six decades and the highly-acclaimed - and much-love bookshop is still going strong.

The bookshop, fully ensconced at 14 Eastcheap is a magnet for book lovers not just in Letchworth but across North Herts and far beyond.

David's marked such an auspicious occasion by throwing a party for staff, past and present, representatives of the bookselling industry, and some close friends of the bookshop.

David's said: "We celebrated 60 years of trading with a party - thank you to everyone who came along and made it a night to remember.

"Thank you so much to everyone for the support over the last 60 years, we couldn't have done it without you.

"In true David's fashion, we still had to put the trollies in at the end of the night..."

David's also thanked @vutiebeets for catering - the sushi, vegan sausage rolls and cake were delicious.
