Historically the Summer months would see a mantle of calm and silence descend over Legends Lane.
The birds would tweet, the bees buzz, and the only sound to be heard would be Diggers' mower as he puts in sterling work drilling, seeding and helping the pitches recover. Well not this year.
There has been a hive of activity both on and off the field, almost since the clubhouse was cleaned up after the end of season celebrations.
Having achieved two back-to-back promotions, the Legends now find themselves at the heady heights of Level 5, a position never attained by the club before in their 99 year history - and certainly by no other club in North Herts.

In football talk it is one below Division 2 - fairly serious stuff.
So Director of Rugby Baz Basra and his band of coaches have been hard at it all through the summer months, with the regulars from all three sides, as well as a plethora of new recruits for the new season where every match will be as tough as teak.
The season will start with a seaside trip to Westcliffe, relegated from National 2 before two tough home matches against Bedford Athletic (September 9) and old London 1 rivals Colchester on September 23, with an away game to high flying Harpenden on September 16 .
There are sumptuous lunches before the home games - and if interested call Les Wilsher on 07827373937.
It's not only the seniors who have had their noses to the grindstone both the mixed ability side, the Braveherts and the Lionesses have been training every Wednesday during the summer under the coaching of Nick Winwood and Danny Ryall.
Off the field several large projects have commenced in anticipation of the 2024 centenary celebrations.
The new Walker lounge which will provide a superb viewing gallery, as well as self-contained facilities for a coffee lounge, yoga and pilates, is up to scaffold height already.
This is being driven by the indefatigable chairman Chris Lunnon and long-standing club members Gary Ryall and Joe Quirke.
Thanks are also due to leading sponsors Lawsons (formerly Herts Timber ), Ashe Roofing and Nand P Windows who have been more than generous in supporting the clubs efforts in this project. As have Ellisons, a new sponsor, in supplying the electrical materials.
Planning permission is also being obtained for match standard floodlights on the first team pitch which will see midweek and Friday night games as well as three o' clock kick offs in the depths of winter.
A grant from the RFU means that the Ladies facilities will be hotel standard by the start of the season and the disabled loos upgraded.
Given a highly successful music festival in Try Fest with Lazy Sunday Afternoon to come this Bank Holiday, and fund raisers for research into MND the social side has been pretty busy as well.
As President Brian Burke commented: "I can't wait for the start of the season for a well earned rest...!"
Did no one tell him the Rugby World Cup starts in under two weeks...
So if you are reading this and have never visited Letchworth Rugby Club (at the back of the leisure centre ) don't be shy as a warm welcome will await you. Not to mention a really decent standard of rugby.
