Jackmans Community Centre on Jackmans Estate has been part of Letchworth Garden City since its opening in 1970.

A charity run community centre with an ambition for making the community stronger, In its most recent years the focus has been driven towards improving the centre and the support available to locals.

The community centre not only provides spaces to hire for local groups, at a reasonable cost, ranging from healthy lifestyle groups, adults with additional needs and dementia groups right through to toddler stay and play, yoga and dance but has also opened a community cafe, operates as a warm hub, is an information hub for AskforAriel and in coming months will also be home to a social supermarket.

However, the Jackmans Community Association is a very small charity and is in need of support from the community to enable them to continue the vital work they do and will continue to do.

The community centre building is need of roof repairs, the responsibility of the repair falls on the charity alone and unfortunately they do not have the funds to repair the damages and provide the services within the community.

They have started the hard task of fund raising for the repairs and are also running a GoFundMe page, linked here

With support from our local community and beyond, Jackmans Community Centre will be able to continue the vital work they have done for more than half a century.
