New Royston and Royston Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team Sergeant appointed

A new sergeant has been appointed to lead the Royston and Royston Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Sergeant Lisa Perks has joined the team based at the Melbourn Street station and looks forward to serving the community.

Lisa joined the Constabulary in 1997 and has predominately worked in front line roles, but has also spent time in the covert world with the Source Management Unit.

Lisa said: "I'm really looking forward to serving the Royston and Royston Rural communities and developing the work which my predecessor, Sgt Ryan Champion, oversaw.

"I have vast experience in neighbourhood policing and was one of the original officers placed on the Neighbourhood Policing Team (which was until recently known as the Safer Neighbourhood Team) when it first started over 20 years ago. I have seen it change massively; it has grown over the years."

"I have been a Sergeant for the past three years and will use that experience to work with the communities of Royston and Royston Rural, while also being passionate about supporting my team and helping them to further their careers."

Lisa will ensure the team continues to work towards tackling the existing priorities for the area which are:

•        Tackling speeding throughout Royston Urban and Rural areas

•        Reducing inconsiderate parking and poor driving near schools

•        Continued youth engagement to maintain low youth related anti-social behaviour (ASB) and prevent future ASB
