Top that! Letchworth's Pancake Day Race has been hailed as a 'flippin' success.

Our town centre hosted the popular event this week - with large crowds turning out to support the race and festivities.

Many took part in the race, while some donned fancy dress, including a squirrel and black cat to name but two types of furry friends.

The eagerly awaited event took place on Shrove Tuesday (February 13) and was organised by the brilliant Love Letchworth team.

Tireless organiser Sam King paid tribute to everyone who came along and helped make the day such a success, telling Letchworth Nub News: "We are so pleased with the turnout for Letchworth's Pancake Race.

"Thank you to everyone who came to watch and take part, you made the race such a fun community event!

"Huge thank you to the businesses and mascots that put on their running shoes and took to the track.

"We can't wait for next years race already - Thank you!"
