New petrol station drive thru set for A1(M) near Baldock after planning application submitted

Plans have been lodged for changes to the Applegreen petrol station, on the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) near Baldock.

The intention is to demolish the existing Applegreen site in favour of building a Welcome Break.

The current Applegreen is situated on the opposite side of the road to the BP petrol station on the northbound carriageway.

Plans have been posted for a new forecourt and building, which would include a drive thru coffee shop, as well as internal seating.

However, the number of pumps at the petrol station would remain the same, even if there are plans to increase the number of car parking spaces, while including electric vehicle charging facilities.
