Nine houses are set to be built on former green belt land in Ickleford after controversial plans have been approved.

The scheme relates to the Chambers Road housing development in Ickleford.

The decision on the site near to Arnold's Farm was made on Thursday evening (March 7) after the land was initially earmarked for residential development nine years ago.

The site at the Alleyfield Burial Ground in Ickleford, will see three two-bedroom, four three-bedroom, and two four-bedroom homes built - following North Herts Council finally agreeing to the project, after past attempts to get permission for 18, 17, and 10 homes had failed.

As Nub News has been reported, the latest plans had been amended to nine from ten two months ago. .

The land has been labelled as green belt land prior to being removed after the North Herts Local Plan (2011-31) had been given the green light.
