Police seize e-scooter in Letchworth

An illegal ride in Norton Common has seen the controversial two-wheel motor confiscated by officers from Herts Police

An e-scooter has been seized by police officers in Letchworth.

Nub News understands that concerned locals reported the e-scooter was being ridden illegally across Norton Common.

Sergeant Ryan Champion, from the Letchworth and Baldock Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "E-scooters are not legal for use on public land in Hertfordshire.

"They can only be used on private land with the landowner's permission.

"As well as being illegal to ride, they can also put members of the public at risk of serious injury."
