Followers of North Herts PRIDE on social media and locals to the area, will have noticed a welcome revamp of the rainbow bench at the top of Windmill Hill.

The bench in Hitchin was installed in March 2023 but has been "in desperate need of a face lift" having been inflicted with some "mindless vandalism".

The bench funded by the late Judi Billing now looks "as good as new."

With Niamh and Kit directors of North Herts PRIDE at hand to overlook proceedings, original artist Jacob Williams-Leroy restored the bench to its former glory.

A similar project for Letchworth is pending thanks to local councillor Terry Horne.
