Witness appeal following assault in Royston
Police are appealing for information and witnesses following an assault in Royston.
The incident occurred at around 435pm on Sunday (November 26).
It is reported that two men knocked on the door of an address and threw what is believed to be an acidic solution towards the victim when they answered.
The victim was taken to hospital and later discharged.
The two suspects are described as wearing motorcycle helmets, with one wearing a black jacket and the second wearing a red jacket.
They are believed to have left the scene on an orange motorbike.
Detective Inspector Ben Smith from the North Herts Local Crime Unit said: "The safety of any victim is paramount and due to the nature of this incident; we are not disclosing the street address. However, I would like to reassure the public that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is not believed to be any wider threat.
"I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed an orange motorbike travelling in the Royston area on Sunday. Did you see two people matching the description? If so, please get in touch.
"If you have any information that you feel could assist our investigation, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please contact me directly via [email protected]."
