Transformation Tuesday Women of the Year

Throughout the year at Slimming World we hold member competitions, writes Amanda Dickinson.

This gives the group the opportunity to share their appreciation for the other members and celebrate each other's successes. 

Durning August we hold the competition woman of the year, across my 5 sessions 32 amazing ladies were nominated by their fellow members.

The members were asked to nominate members who motivated them, who picked them up when they were low, who shared great food ideas and tips, who inspired body magic and those who just oozed Slimming world.

To have so many members nominated made me feel so proud that in my groups there is so much support. 

The week of the group finals the nominated members are invited to share their story and we celebrate together by sharing some of our favourite slimming world dishes with amazing food tasters. 

Competition weeks are full of emotions with, laughter, motivation, heartache and often tears too.

Some of the stories the members shared resonated with others despite being a completely personal journey aspects are the same. We heard of nominees who have struggled with their weight since childhood, who were picked on and bullied, who have turned to food and used it as a crutch.

Listening to how they have overcome these, how they have changed their relationship with food, how they have learnt to cook from always believing they couldn't it's so exciting.

The five winners I had have a combined weight loss of over 16 stone
